Daniel B. Winslow
Senior Counsel, Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, Proskauer Rose LLP
Dan Winslow is a Senior Counsel in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, resident in the Boston office of Proskauer Rose. As both a trial lawyer and problem solver with broad leadership experience in the private and public sectors, he concentrates his practice in three areas: trial, outside general counsel services and corporate strategies. His trial practice encompasses complex civil and criminal cases for individuals and corporations, including bet-the-company litigation and ADR involving commercial disputes, state and federal administrative law, corporate compliance, intellectual property, consumer protection, products liability, procurement and white-collar criminal defense.
Dan is well known for developing the model Economical Litigation Agreement — the “civil litigation prenup” — that has been used by major corporations to reduce the cost of business litigation. Prior to joining Proskauer Rose, Dan was a partner at Duane Morris LLP. He also previously worked as chief legal counsel to then-Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, as well as a presiding justice and appellate division justice in the Massachusetts Trial Court.
Dan earned his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School and holds a B.A. from Tufts University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Governance Committee and Judicial Administration Section Counsel as well as the Executive Committee, National Delegate of the Federal Bar Association's Massachusetts Chapter. Dan has been named one of the “35 Most Influential Lawyers in Massachusetts in the Past 35 Years” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
