Student, Harvard Law School
Matt Walsh is originally from Long Beach, California. Matt graduated from UC Irvine with a B.A. in History in 2007, and is now a 3L at Harvard Law School. Last year he took a class on the legal profession with Professor John Coates. The class prompted Matt to become more self-aware about his law school experience and degree to which the regulation of law produces net gains or losses to the broader economy.
During his 1L summer, Matt interned with the United States Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division in Los Angeles, California, where he worked on cases in the Major Frauds Section. This past summer, Matt worked at the Irvine, California office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and will be returning there as an associate next fall.
In his free time Matt likes to play sports, read, and play poker. His most recent addictions are to Brazilian jujitsu and The Economist.
