John Varghese

Assistant Professor in Law, Government Law College, Kozhikode, Kozhikode, India

After almost 8 years in legal service industry, both as an independent practitioner and working in various legal roles in leading financial institutions, John Varghese has moved on to teaching in Government Law College service, State of Kerala, India. After taking up teaching assignment in 2008, John has successfully coordinated International Seminar on Emerging Trends in Banking Law in Oct 2009 and a National Seminar on Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics in September 2010 and is currently working on a third seminar on Legal Education. John is teaching Legal Education for LLM students, and Banking Law, Law of Crimes, Law of Criminal Procedure, Law of Evidence, Land Laws, Professional Ethics and Labour Laws for LLB students.

John is the faculty in charge of Moot Court and Career Guidance cell(GLCKCCC) of Government Law College, Kozhikode. John is also functioning Secretary to Staff Council, Government Law College, Kozhikode.

John is pursuing PhD programme from National University of Advanced Legal Studies(NUALS), Kochi on Regulation of new generation monetary instruments and had taught a course on New Generation Banking in NUALS.
