Elaine Tracey
In-house Commercial and Competition Lawyer, Nestle
Elaine Tracey is a dual qualified Irish solicitor working as an in-house commercial and competition lawyer for Nestle, the world's leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company. Elaine has been with Nestle UK & Ireland for two years and loves the varied and fast-paced nature of her role. She is never bored! The best aspects of being part of such a large company is the exposure to many different business models within the one organisation, and also the opportunity to get to know lawyers in other markets. Also the fact that our petfood colleagues are allowed to bring their dogs into work adds a sense of fun! In 2012 she represented the UK & Ireland market in Switzerland at Nestle's training course for lawyers, Neslaw 1: Introduction to Legal as a Business Partner at Nestle. This course reflects the essence of our role within the organization, which is to be business minded and commercially focussed.
Before Elaine joined Nestle, she was Company Secretary and General Counsel for an unlisted plc in Ireland in the wholesale and grocery business. This was a fantastic introduction into the FMCG sector as she was a member of the Senior Leadership Team for this company and was involved in all aspects of decision making as well as providing legal advice to the Board of Directors and the executive. Elaine trained in one of the top ten lawfirms in Ireland with an emphasis during her training on all aspects of business law and qualified as Associate into the Corporate team.
Elaine is originally from Dublin, Ireland and has been living in London since she joined Nestle. She has a degree in Law and European Studies (BCL) from University College Dublin and a Masters of Laws (LLM) from Trinity College Dublin. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland, England and Wales, and is also a qualified Company Secretary (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) and accredited Mediator (Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales).
