Tao Xu

Tao Xu is a candidate for both Juris Doctor and Juris Master degrees at Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China, where she is she is co-chair of the Society of Women in Law. Studying American law and Chinese law at the same time provides her with a diverse perspective from which to learn and compare different legal systems. She plans to undertake a research project that focuses on the treatment of female lawyers in Chinese law firms, and to rank them accordingly.
Before entering law school, Tao Xu majored in International Economical Politics at Central University of Finance and Economics, where she had earned four scholarships. She graduated as the top student in her major. Furthermore, she gained a global perspective by organizing and participating in Model United Nations, an academic simulation of the United Nations that educates participants about current events. Tao Xu also developed leadership skills by leading a team under Students in Free Enterprise, an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to inspire college students to improve their communities.
