David Savage

Associate, Eversheds LLP

David Savage is an Associate in the International Trade department at Eversheds LLP. He works with various clients in the energy, trade and commodities sector and advises on both transactional and contentious matters in respect of all issues pertaining to hard and soft commodities and energy contracts. David has an expertise in international sanctions and regularly provides seminars in this fast paced area. Further, David is an accredited trainer on commodity structured trade finance products and leads courses in this area in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He also leads seminars on a variety of topics for Lloyd’s Maritime Academy.

David attended the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne where he read law and, in his final year, was the President of Newcastle’s Law Society. He completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, York, before starting his training contract with Reed Smith in London in 2007 where he did “seats” in Banking Litigation, Media Litigation and Property Litigation and went on secondment to MTV. David qualified as a Solicitor in February 2009 and remained with Reed Smith until 2011 whereupon he moved to Eversheds to help set up the International Trade department.

David is a keen traveller and has spent time in a number of countries, including Peru, Cambodia, China, New Zealand and, most recently, India. David also has a particular interest in diversity and inclusion and is currently the Chairman of Eversheds’ LGBT employee networking group and Student Liaison Officer for Interlaw.
