Winfried Ruigrok (NL) is Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St.Gallen. The Executive School is the University of St.Gallen’s platform for all post-experience and executive education activities in the fields of management, economics, law, social sciences and international affairs. Its mission is to promote life-long learning at all career levels.  It offers a broad range of MBA, Executive MBA, open enrolment and in-house custom programmes to board members, senior executives as well as to young talents and mid-career managers. Winfried is also a professor of international management and the director of the Research Institute for International Management at the same university. His research is in the areas of international strategy, corporate governance, top management teams and boards, diversity management, and case study research.

Winfried has published well over a hundred academic and practitioner-oriented papers.  He was the founding academic director of the St.Gallen MBA programme (2005-2010). He has worked as a consultant or executive education provider with countless domestic and multinational organisations, including Daimler Benz, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Post, DHL, Eczasibasi, Ernst & Young, Essent, European Commission, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Gore, Henkel, Hilti, Karstadt Quelle, Lonza, Nissan, Otto Versand, PwC, RWE, and Solution Providers.

Winfried studied political science and international economic relations at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), where he also obtained his PhD. He previously worked in the Netherlands (Rotterdam School of Management/Erasmus University, University of Amsterdam, and Netherlands Organisation for International Development Cooperation), Belgium (European Commission), and the UK (Warwick Business School).  He serves on the board and jury of several organisations and can be followed at twitter.com/WinfriedRuigrok.
