Kara Romagnino

Student, University of Miami School of Law

Kara Romagnino is a second-year student at the University of Miami School of Law.  She currently serves as a Research Assistant for Professor Michele DeStefano Beardslee on the LawWithoutWalls™ initiative as well as a Dean’s Fellow for Dean Patricia White.

As a member of the Inter-American Law Review, Kara’s current research is focused on legal process outsourcing in Latin America.  This spring, she will represent the University of Miami School of Law’s Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board at the National Appellate Advocacy Competition .  Kara is the gracious recipient of the James L. Ferraro Alumni Donor Scholarship and was awarded the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award in Civil Procedure.  During the summer of 2010, Kara worked as a Legal Intern at the Office of the State Attorney in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Her legal interests include Media Law and Intellectual Property Law.

Kara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University, where she double majored in Political Science.  Prior to attending law school, she worked as an Online Producer at the Sun Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  She also held internships at America Online, Inc. and NPR.  Kara is originally from Hollidaysburg, PA.
