Béranger Pène works in Geneva, Switzerland at the legal department of a leading global commodities trader. His main areas of practice are commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing and general corporate matters. His work is anything but routine as it involves work involving over 45 different common law and civil law jurisdictions.
Béranger joined Louis Dreyfus Commodities after various post-graduation internships in US and French law firms and working for two years as a Legal Counsel for a French tour operator and hotel chain company. He qualified as an Attorney at law in the New York Bar in 2011.
Béranger received a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Nice, an LL.M in Comparative Law from the University of San Diego and he also studied law one year in the Netherlands. While he was in San Diego, he published an article “Global Strategy of the Chinese Investment abroad” in Folsom and Gordon’s International Business Transactions, 3d (Practitioner Treatise Series). Beranger is originally from the Basque Country in the South West of France. He tries to pursue a good work-life balance and his center of interest lies in world politics, contemporary history and cross cultural communication.
