Yana Mityaeva
Student, University of Miami School of Law
Yana Mityaeva is a second-year law student at the University of Miami. Having previously obtained a law degree in Siberia, Russia, Yana decided to seize an opportunity to learn the common law system of the United States. At Miami Law, Yana was awarded the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Legal Communication and Research and a CALI Award for Best Oral Argument. Yana is a member of International Moot Court in the Foreign Investment Arbitration Competition team. Her legal interests include International and Comparative Law, as well as International Business Law.
During her studies in Russia, Yana worked with the in-house attorney for one of the largest corporations in Russia, the Trans-Siberian Railroad Co., where she assisted with transactional and employment law practice. Last summer, Yana worked in a Miami-based firm that focuses on international litigation and arbitration.
Yana loves to travel, with a particular affinity for Central and South America. She has visited Panama and Colombia on several occasions.
