Steven P. Mehr
Student, Indiana University Maurer School of Law
Steve Mehr is a third year student at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He is the recipient of the Jefferies Scholarship and was selected as the Executive Competition Coordinator for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. During his 2nd and 3rd years of law school, Steve worked as a Peer Group Advisor, mentoring 1L students and assisting with the innovative Legal Professions course. He was asked to serve as an Admissions Fellow for the Maurer School of Law and has represented the school in various admissions related outings. Steve was chosen as a project leader in the groundbreaking Project Management for Lawyers course with responsibilities over client communication and team project execution. He currently works as a student associate at the Elmore Entrepreneurship Law Clinic.
During the summer of 2011, Steve worked as an associate general counsel for Symmetry Medical, Inc. He designed and implemented the company’s global rewards and recognition program. Prior to attending law school, Steve spent several years working with a large residential land development company. He started as an apprentice and was promoted within the company, ultimately becoming Regional Supervisor over the entire northern California area. He spent two years living in Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish. He is an avid golfer and remembers fondly the days in which he could dunk a basketball.
