Tobit Martel

Student, Université de Montréal Faculty of Law

Tobit Martel has been member of the Quebec Bar since September 2012. He is currently working on a master in business law at University of Montreal, while working part-time for the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice as coordinator of its judicial program. He is also a volunteer lawyer of the Young Bar Association of Montreal for its service in preparation of hearing at the Small Claims Division of the Court of Quebec.

Tobit worked on different aspects of municipal legislations while doing his Bar internship at the City of Longueuil. He graduated in 2011 from the combined co-op program of bachelor of laws and master of business administration at University of Sherbrooke. For the purpose of this program, he did an internship in project management at Public Works and Government Services Canada, he participated in the drafting of the Law on Non-Profit Organizations during an internship at the Ministry of Finance of Quebec and he learned the day-to-day operations of a financial institution during his internship at GE Capital Canada. Additionally, he acquired legal experience while assisting Justice Dunnigan of the Court of Quebec and the Defendants Coordinator of a local unemployment help center. He also has a college degree in journalism from Cegep of Jonquiere.

His first language is French and he is presently perfecting his English. He likes to do kayak and kickboxing.
