Katrin Krehan
Executive Director, Law School, University of St. Gallen
Katrin Krehan is Executive Director at the Law School of the University of St.Gallen and responsible for the law and economics program and the doctoral program of law including program development, coordination within the international partner universities, conferences, student recruitment and mentoring. She is also a coordinator for the MLE-Foundation which is supporting the law and economics program.
Before coming to Switzerland she worked at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer where she was organizing the further education in European Law and teaching European Law. Furthermore she was responsible for the local EU Documentation Center.
Katrin holds a Ph.D. in Law from Humboldt University of Berlin and a bar exam from the High Court of Zweibrücken (Second Legal State Exam). As a trainee solicitor, she worked inter alia with the legal department of Ernst &Young at Paris. She received her legal education at the University of the Saar (Germany), the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and the Maximilians University of Munich (Germany) where she graduated with the First Legal State Exam. While she was still at university, she took the opportunity to gain practical and international experience at law firms at Warsaw and Lausanne and at the General Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany at New York.
Interested in international relations Katrin has been a member of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) and is today a member of the German-French Lawyers’ Association and the Society for Research on Higher Education.
