Stephanie L. Kimbro

Owner, Kimbro Legal Services

Stephanie L. Kimbro, Esq., M.A., J.D. is the owner of Kimbro Legal Services. She has operated a virtual law office in North Carolina since 2006. Stephanie is the recipient of the 2009 ABA Keane Award for Excellence in eLawyering and has won the Wilmington Parent Magazine Family Favorite Attorney Award five years in a row for her virtual law office. She is the author of Virtual Law Practice: How to Deliver Legal Services Online, ABA/LPM Publishing (2010) and was named a “Legal Rebel” in 2010 by the ABA Journal. She is also the co-founder of Virtual Law Office Technology, LLC (VLOTech), which was acquired by Total Attorneys, a Chicago-based company, in the fall of 2009.

In addition to her virtual law practice, Stephanie is a technology consultant providing assistance to other legal professionals interested in the online delivery of legal services. Stephanie writes about the ethics and technology issues of delivering legal services online and is interested in the use of technology by legal professionals to increase access to justice in our country. She has presented continuing legal education (CLE) courses on a variety of topics for the ABA, ALI-ABA, and different state bar groups and law schools. Stephanie also teaches a course on virtual law practice as a faculty member of Solo Practice University, a Web-based legal education community, and is currently teaching a course on virtual law practice for Concord Law School’s Small Business LLM program.

Stephanie serves on the advisory board of the International Legal Technology Standards Organization (ILTSO) and is a member of the ABA eLawyering Task Force, the Vice Chair of the ABA LPM’s Ethics and Professional Responsibility Task Force, a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Law Practice Management (LPM) Council, and the NCBA Tech Advisory Committee.
