Sarah Jackson
Legal Counsel, Roche
Sarah Jackson is legal counsel at one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world – Roche. Within Roche she currently specializes in advising the global research and development business from early stage development through to stage IV post marketing authorization clinical trials as the Global Study Legal Lead in Roche’s UK head office based in Hertfordshire. She also currently specializes in employment law and provides advice on a daily basis to the human resources team in the UK.
Previously, Sarah spent time as sole legal counsel to a biotechnology research organization and prior to that she spent a number of years with another global pharmaceutical business Schering-Plough (now MSD). Sarah trained and qualified at Schering-Plough and in her time there advised on all aspects of the regulatory and marketing side of the business for a number of products. She also specialized in data protection and competition law in relation to the pharmaceutical industry.
Sarah originally trained to be a professional musician and followed this profession for 20 years before deciding to re-qualify as a solicitor. She did this while working full time but still managed to complete the qualification process in largely same time it takes a full time student to do so in the UK.
