Rebecca Gibson

Associate, Eversheds LLP

Rebecca Gibson specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency, and acts for all stakeholders in distressed and insolvent businesses with a particular focus on non-contentious restructuring. Rebecca’s recent experience includes advising a UK clearing bank on the consensual restructuring of a manufacturing business carrying £30 million senior debt, which included the lender taking equity in the business in return for a writedown of its debt.  Other notable work includes advising the administrators of a insolvent bakery manufacturing business with 40 retail units on the sale of its business in two parts, which resulted in a significant number of jobs being saved.

Rebecca qualified as an associate at Eversheds LLP in 2010 after completing her two-year training contract at the firm. While a trainee, she gained experience in banking, real estate development and regeneration and professional negligence. During her time at Eversheds, Rebecca has been a member of R3 Yorkshire New Professionals Committee, which organises networking and training events for restructuring professionals, and has been responsible for the firm’s relationship with St George’s Crypt, a homeless charity.

Rebecca graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University in 2006 with a 2.1 BA honours degree in Law. While at Oxford, Rebecca acted as the treasurer of the Oxford Law Society. She subsequently gained a distinction on the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School London in 2007.
