Jacqueline Gasser-Beck
Executive Director, Institute for Legal Studies and Legal Practice (IRP-HSG) University of St.Gallen, Switzerland

Jacqueline Gasser-Beck specializes in continuing education for lawyers. Together with her team at IRP-HSG, she oversees the offering of over 40 seminars and conferences annually on selected legal topics and aimed at establishing a link between latest findings from research and best practice in the field of law. Furthermore IRP-HSG offers several post graduate programs (Certificate of Advanced studies) with focus on criminal and civil litigation, conflict resolution, negation and mediation as well as liability and insurance law.
Jacqueline rejoined University of St.Gallen after spending several years in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. From 2002 to 2004 she was enrolled as visiting researcher at Harvard Law School conducting her independent research and working for Prof. Mary Ann Glendon on comparative legal topics such as formation of marriage around the world. Returning to Switzerland in 2005, Jacqueline acted as the program coordinator of the Master of Law Program at University of St.Gallen for three years before returning to Cambridge again to work for the Swiss Government.
Working for swissnex Boston, Consulate of Switzerland as advisor for Education and Academic Affairs, she was responsible for the overall strategy and outreach to current and prospective academic partners to support knowledge exchange between Switzerland and the greater Boston area. Following trends in higher education management, science and research, she organized projects and events to promote Swiss excellence in higher education on targeted topics such as sustainability or innovation.
When taking a break from her passion for higher education she enjoys fun, sporty and crafty activities with her two children or engaging with the local community and friends around the world.
