David Elkins
Managing Director of Operations, Bayview Asset Management
Over the past 20 years, David has been a lawyer, management consultant, entrepreneur, and Executive. David graduated from the University of Virginia in 1988 with a B.A. in English Literature and graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1991, where he was a member of the Boston College Law Review.
From 1991 to 1996, David was a litigator in New York City at Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Greenberg, Traurig. Towards the end of 1996, he became a management consultant at a “start-up” consulting firm that quickly grew to almost 1000 consultants. After three years, David caught the Internet bug that was prevalent in 1999 and co-founded an e-commerce company that showed some promise but ran out of funding before its product was commercially viable.
In 2000, David returned to Management Consulting as a Vice-President at a small company where his role was to help sell and then lead large on-site projects for Private Equity companies, state governments and large companies. In 2007, after the company was sold to a Fortune 500 company, David left consulting and joined the Operations department of Bayview Asset Management in Miami, where he now lives. Bayview has its headquarters down the street from the University of Miami and David and his family are delighted that he is no longer constantly jumping on a plane for work. As Managing Director of Operations at Bayview, David oversees Business Intelligence, Performance Improvement, Client Relationship Management, Quality Assurance, and Marketing.
