Anjali Deshmukh
Student, Stanford Law School
Anjali Deshmukh is a second-year student at Stanford Law School and a fourth-year student at Vanderbilt School of Medicine. She currently serves as President of Biolaw and the Mentoring Chair of the Women of Stanford Law School. During the summer of 2011, Anjali served as judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Lucy Koh in the Northern District of California. She also choreographed for the law school musical.
In addition to law school, Anjali is pursuing a dual degree in medicine. At Vanderbilt, she served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Health Services and helped establish Nashville’s Medical Legal Partnership Project though the Emphasis program. The results of this and other work were presented at several state and national conferences.
Originally from East Lyme, Connecticut, Anjali graduated from Dartmouth College, where she double majored in Molecular Biochemistry and Government. During college, she served as an intern for Congresswoman Diana Degette (CO-1) during the passage of HR 810 and researched liver immunology under Dr. Jim Gorham at Dartmouth-Hickcock Medical Center. She was awarded citations for Political Theory and a Dean’s Plate for the class of 2007 in recognition of outstanding service to the college.
