Rebecca Danby
Senior Counsel, GlaxoSmithKline
Rebecca Danby is a Senior Counsel in the Legal Department at GlaxoSmithKline. She supports the Consumer Healthcare business and, in particular, the global Family Oral Health and Denture Care brand teams. She carries out a general counsel-style role for her business units and therefore assists them with any legal issues that may come their way from advertising law issues to contracts with suppliers and from litigation to corporate acquisitions and disposals. The global nature of her business units means that she supports products all the way from the concept stage, through research and development, all the way to sales and marketing.
Rebecca joined GlaxoSmithKline in2010 after spending 11 years at the international law firm Simmons & Simmons, where she practised corporate law. While at Simmons & Simmons, Rebecca specialised in equity capital markets transactions, in particular advising companies on primary and secondary listings on the London equity markets. Rebecca was called to the bar in 1999 and became dual-qualified as a solicitor in 2003.
Rebecca received her BA in jurisprudence (law) from Balliol College, Oxford University in 1998 and completed the Bar Vocational Course in 1999. When not at work, Rebecca sings in a choir and is a keen amateur photographer.
