Lynnett E. Brooks

Student, New York Law School

Lynnett E. Brooks is currently a second-year student attending New York Law School. As an as Associate with the Center for Professional Values and Practice she is currently working on a research project that examines how attorneys can address issues of client confidentiality in a virtual law practice when using various technology platforms. As a member of the Lawyering Skills Center, Lynnett is a participant of the Mediation Clinic where she conducts actual mediations in the New York Small Claims Court.

Lynnett earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Jurisprudence summa cum laude from Montclair State University in New Jersey where she received the Academic Achievement and Service Award from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. As an undergraduate, she was selected to participate in a collaborative panel between Montclair State University and the Ukrainian Court Panel discussing the similarities, differences and potential areas of improvement of the two legal systems. Lynnett also received a scholarship to attend The Washington Center’s 2008 Inauguration Seminar in Washington, D.C.

During her professional career prior to law school, Lynnett demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit when she established and operated her own consulting firm where she offered paralegal, networking, and liaison services. In addition to her work in the legal field, Lynnett has experience in staff management, business development and project management.  She has also worked with children as a substitute teacher and a behavioral worker.

Lynnett enjoys traveling, horseback riding, tai chi, and anything that sparks her passion for life, law, and innovation.
