Sasha Blacker is a Senior Commercial Lawyer with Siemens Plc. She currently supports the Water Technologies business and assisted Water Technologies to integrate into Siemens following their acquisition. She has worked with the business to devise legal governance procedures, produced business specific standard form documents and provided regular training on relevant legal topics to the sales and project managers, as well as conducting day to day contract negotiations and advising on avoiding disputes.

Sasha also advised Siemens, both in the UK and globally, on the operation and application of the UK Olympics legislation and developed guidelines on how to prevent marketing, promotion and events being in breach. She is now reviewing the know-how and training requirements of the 90 members of the UK legal community and, with a team, developing a strategy and providing recommendations.

Sasha previously worked as a construction lawyer in private practice, where she worked with a variety of clients on numerous large capital investment construction projects, both locally and internationally. Her first construction project was as part of a team negotiating the contracts for the extension of the Underground railway line out to Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5.

Sasha gained her law degree from Durham University, after which she spent a year as sabbatical president of her college, St Mary’s.  She was called to the Bar in 2000, having qualifying as a barrister at the Inns of Court School of Law and became a solicitor on passing her QLTT whilst at Hammonds, London.
