James Batham

James is Head of Innovation for Eversheds LLP and a senior litigation partner specialising in real estate disputes. James works with all manner of private companies, investors and government agencies primarily in the UK but also globally. James leads substantial cases and builds successful trial strategies to the Supreme Court and leads complex real estate transactions for these clients.

Innovation is at the heart of Eversheds strategy and a key part of James’ contribution to the firm. It’s a great and enjoyable task to keep challenging and innovating seeking new entrepreneurial ways to collaborate with clients and others in industry. James has worked at Eversheds for 15 years but enjoyed a role in marketing and other consultancies whilst fulfilling his academic ambitions before starting his career in law.

James has 3 young children (two boys and a girl) and is a qualified Football Association coach. James has family in the UK, India and Hong Kong and loves to travel. James is married to Anita a veterinarian with whom James has helped build and sell a successful small business and now lives with the aftermath (ie presently a dog, two cats and a snake). James loves to ski, run and cycle. James has a first class degree in Politics and Modern History and an M.Phil from Cambridge in International Relations.
