Christopher Baker
Partner, Skadden Arps, Paris Office
Christopher Baker is a partner with Skadden Arps in Paris, where he has practiced tax and M&A since he helped to open the office in 1989. He managed the office for the better part of the last 20 years. His practice is transactional and international, with significant experience in energy, technology, chemicals and luxury goods. His deal list spans "traditional" intra-European and transatlantic work but also includes significant transactions in Russia, Central Asia and on the African continent.
Christopher is an adjunct professor at Ecole de Droit de Sciences Po, where he helped to launch the Law Clinic last year and where he teaches "Introduction to US Law" and "Compliance and Social Innovation". He is also a founder and a member of the executive committee of l'Ecole HEAD, a startup privately funded law school in Paris which enrolled its first class in the fall of 2012. Christopher is on the board of the Fonds de Dotation de l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, thinking about how to better engage social science academia and the real world. He is also on the board of two privately held financial services companies.
Christopher went to high school in France, earned his BA from Harvard (in Russian History and Literature), his JD from the University of Chicago and an LLM in taxation from NYU.
