Ajaz Ahmed

Founder, Freeserve, Advisory Board, University of Huddersfield Business School and Government Regional Development Agency Yorkshire Forward

Ajaz is best known for being the founder of Freeserve which was the UK's largest ISP and is now known as Orange broadband. He came up with the idea when he bought a computer and nobody in the store could tell him how to get into the internet, the rest as they say is history. Freeserve was floated by Dixons and eventually sold for £1.6bn to France Telecom.

Ajaz held the position of Business Development Director until April 2001 and left following the sale to pursue other business interests. He has a number of investments which he is actively involved in, his latest venture is Legal365.com, he also sits on the advisory board at the University of Huddersfield Business School and Government Regional Development Agency Yorkshire Forward.
